McConnell Family Correspondence Collection

This collection offers a rare glimpse into the family dynamic of the McConnell family. John Preston McConnell was a firm believer in keeping copies of all correspondence, and so we have here several years of letters he wrote to his son and daughter-in-law Carl and Rio McConnell and their responses to his letters.  In this collection we see the types of advice he gave, his concerns, details about the rest of the McConnell clan and fascinating pieces of history of the Radford campus.   The letters that Carl and Rio wrote to him are filled with details about their years at the University of Virginia, their time studying in Yugoslavia and Germany, and their time in Oneota, New York.

RU Digital Collections contains digitized materials from McConnell Library's Archives and Special Collections. Included are photographs, documents, maps, pamphlets, and books culled from the University Archives, Special Collections, and Appalachian Collection.
