Description
Overhead view of the grooved tension hoop. This hoop is tightened by a system of hooks and nuts which run through "shoes" bolted to the rim of the banjo. Adding tension to the band stretches the head which in turn increases volume and tone to the banjo. This banjo was made by the William Lange banjo company sometime between 1925 and 1939.
