Stelling banjos have two metal rods that connect the banjo neck to the wooden rim. These rods are used for stability as well as to adjust the neck angle. In Stelling banjos, the top rod acts generally to help hold the neck in place and the longer bottom rod is used both to hold it in place and to adjust the neck angle. The longer bottom rod connects both to the neck and goes completely through the rim and neck angle is adjusted by means of tightening a nut on the outside of the rim. Stelling Banjo Works, Ltd is located in Heards, Virginia and is owned and operated by Geoff Stelling.
