This is another encampment of nomads. they are not Pushto speakers but rather Persian speakers. I was told they are referred to as Chahar Aimaq or 4 Aimaq. the ones I am most familiar with did not migrate long distance like the Pushtu speakers in the earlier slides of this section. Rather they have settled homes where they live in the winter and early spring and plant some crops. During the dry summer and fall they travel the area finding grass for their animals. <br>The Blair Brainard Peace Corps in Afghanistan Photographic Collection captures the photographers experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in Afghanistan, primarily in the city of Herat, 1965-1968.
