Description
Mark Steven Cox Jr holds a banjo with a Cox banjo head on it. Mark is the son of Steven Cox, who made banjo heads with a reinforced hole in them for a short time in the 1970s- Cox Banjo Heads. The idea is that these heads would project sound better than a traditional head. The banjo has a sticker that says John Viers. John Viers is a popular banjo player from the area. From studio portraiture to candid shots around Pulaski County, Virginia, the Farmer Photograph Collection shows the people and daily life in and around Pulaski County, Virginia in the 1945-1995 timeframe.
