Description
On January 21, 2017, hundreds of thousands of people marched in support of women's rights, women's health issues, immigrant rights, LGBT rights and other issues. These marches were held in Washington DC, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York and many other places, including Antarctica, London, Australia, Germany and other countries. The Archives and Special Collections unit of Radford University's McConnell Library is conducting interviews of participants of various marches to help preserve the history, the ideas and impressions of those marchers. On February 4, 2017 Jeanne Roper spoke to us about her march experience, her thoughts on this march as compared other marches she has been in over the last 50 years, her perceptions of the mood of the crowd and her advice for present and future students. Jeanne's perspective on all of this is fascinating and that paired with her years of experience as an educator make this short interview a fascinating one. An HD version of this interview is available on our Archives Vimeo page: https://vimeo.com/220791382
