These photos were taken by Myrtle Lawrence Shelor, her friends, and her family, during the period from 1918 through the 1920s.
Description
Myrtle Lawrence Shelor of Pilot, Virginia, graduated from the State Normal School for Women at Radford in 1922, and taught school in Riner, Pilot, Shawsville, and Dry Valley, Virginia. The photos in the Myrtle Lawrence Shelor Photo Collection depict Ms. Shelor, her friends and family, the college at Radford, and the surrounding area during the time period 1918-1920s. Myrtle Lawrence Shelor married Garnet Allen Kenley, and their grandson, William Allen Kenley, graduated from Radford University in 1987. This collection is reproduced here by permission of the Kenley family.
