- In this letter to the McConnell family, Rio and Carl tell about their first two weeks in Yugoslavia. This letter, like several others was actually written by both Carl and Rio, each in turn. Rio describes the towns they have visited, and the people living there. In Carls's portion of the letter he talks about Dr. Hadzi, who Carl is to work with, and more general information about their travels thus far.
