Description
In this letter to Carl and Rio, John Preston McConnell relates much news of the McConnell family. This news mostly involves a trip the McConnells took to Gate city to visit several members of the family. A point of interest is that he both reports that 10-20,000 squashes of various types are in his fields, but also reports that "The crops were exceedingly poor here and people are depressed financially, but they seem to be cheerful and satisfied." He mentions Carl and Rio's sixth wedding anniversary also, so we know this letter is in response to the one he received dated Sept 25, 1930 from Carl and Rio. JP was forwarding this letter to his son Paul and he includes a short letter to Paul where he briefly discusses rental properties they own together.
