- This letter to Carl from his father, John Preston McConnell was sent to Memorial Hospital in New York City. Carl was receiving treatment for various health issues there and Dr. McConnell was alerting him to the fact that Charles D. Lucas is there and is a family friend and offered the possibility of giving free treatment to Carl.
