Description
This short note to Carl and Rio is another example of how John Preston McConnell would write frequent notes to his children throughout the week just to keep in touch. The only point of interest is a mention of having not heard yet from Senator Byrd, which is in reference to a previous letters where Dr. McConnell asked some of his politician friends to assist Carl in securing a job, starting with a letter from Carl dated May 20, 1934. He frequently asked his friends and contacts at various institutions to help in these matters and occasionally asked politicians to lend some influence as well.
