- A family of six pose in front of the outside wall of their house. The family is dressed formally but are in a very informal setting. From studio portraiture to candid location shots, the William O. Trevey Glass Slide Collection documents the daily lives and labor of coal miners, primarily in the New River Coal Fields of southern West Virginia, at the turn of the Twentieth Century.
