Description
This paper, written by Arthur R. Giesen, Jr. in the Spring of 1954 was for a History of Art class he was taking. The paper contains many photographs and descriptions of houses and buildings found in Radford, Virginia at the time and is an excellent historical resource. Arthur Giesen was born in Radford, Virginia in 1932. Both his grandfather and father were Mayors of Radford, his mother was part of the Radford City Council and was later elected to the Virginia House of Delegates. Giesen was also elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1963 and served roughly until 1996.
