- Photo of the inside of a daycare classroom in Volgograd, USSR. In this photo, we see room decor, several tables with chairs and a woman, possibly the teacher, looking out a window. The city of Tsaritsyn was founded in 1555, was renamed Stalingrad in 1925 and later renamed Volgograd in 1961. From photographs taken by William C. Blizzard during a trip to the Soviet Union, 1979.
