Because of a controversy involving a "Letters to the Editor" submission to Redbook Magazine, (in response to an article published in February 1968 titled "Why I Believe in Sex Before Marriage" by Suzanne Milas), and Radford College's response to that letter, Dr Jervey sued college president Dr. Charles K.
