Radford University's Banjo Masters Oral History Project: Hank Smith
In August of 2019, Hank Smith sat down with us in his Raleigh, NC home and talked to us about his fascinating career as a professional banjo player. Among other things, Hank has played in several highly successful bands (Barefoot Manner, The Morning After, Hank and Pattie The Current), and teaches banjo at University of North Carolina. One of the highlights of the afternoon we spent with his was hearing about the time his band opened for the Grateful Dead when they played Raleigh in 2017. This was a fascinating and entertaining conversation.- Creator
