McConnell Library Card Catalog
McConnell Library Card Catalog
Before libraries used computer programs and electronic catalogs, they depended on the card catalog. In each drawer of the catalog was a group of index cards with call number, title, author, and several bits of cataloging information about the book represented by the card. Patrons would look up a book in the catalog to find the call number so they could go to the book stacks to obtain the book. -

1.2 Testimony of Harold Wilson Mann in the case Jervey vs. Martin February 21, 1972
Dr. Ed Jervey was a Professor of History at Radford College/Radford University from roughly 1961-1991. Because of a controversy involving a "Letters to the Editor" submission to Redbook Magazine, (in response to an article published in February 1968 titled "Why I Believe in Sex Before Marriage" by Suzanne Milas), and Radford College's response to that letter, Dr Jervey sued college president Dr. Charles K. Martin/Board of Visitors. The transcript of the June 1972 trial is presented here in sections, divided by individual witness testimony. This item is the second section of the transcript and represents testimony by Harold Wilson Mann.- Creator

Radford College Bulletin Graduation/Student Roster List 1965-1966 Degrees Granted
Each year lists were published in what would later become the Undergraduate and/or Graduate Student Catalog. This publication changed titles several times over the years reflecting the name changes the college went through. The publication was: Radford Normal Bulletin (1914-1922), Radford State Teachers College Bulletin (1922-1944), Radford College Woman's Division of Virginia Polytechnic Institute College Bulletin (1944-1963) and Radford College Bulletin (1963- 1971). During the early years, each year's graduating classes were listed either by name or by name and degree, as well as the current rosters for the upcoming academic season. What was published varied slightly over the years, but in general this information was published yearly in these publications.- Creator
