The resonator is a wooden shell that is attached to the flange by means of four lugs and four thumbscrews. Soundwaves bounce off the resonator and are directed away from the player and towards the listener. This photograph shows the notch in the wall of the resonator to accomodate the banjo neck. Stelling Banjo Works, Ltd is located in Heards, Virginia and is owned and operated by Geoff Stelling.
